More miracles

Buenas Dias!!!!!!

Yes, I feel like the days are starting to get woven together. This past week has felt just like one giant day. The truth is that this week was crazy! Changes were this past week. Me and my companion did not have changes, but we had to make sure that all of the changes went smoothly in the zone. Luckily everything went smooth.

Other than changes, this week again was filled with miracles. We have had multiple experiences incredible this past week.  Here in the mission, sunday always is one of those days that makes or breaks your week. Normally you work all week with the hope that those that you teach come to church on sunday. When saturday came, truthfully we only had one investagator who said that she would maybe go to church. We did not know why, but we felt like we were going to have 3 investagators. We worked as hard as we could on saturday, and really only had 2 investagators ready for church. Neverthesless, we kept praying that we would have 3. Church came and sure enough, 2 investagators showed up. We felt good with our 2, but we kept praying during sacrament meeting, and in the last 20 minuets, a third investagator showed up. That was one grand miracle for us. Later that day, we had a meeting with a high council member who is in charge of the mision work in this stake. After the meeting we felt like we needed to visit some investagators of the sisters in another area with this high councill member. This was an odd prompting because we did not even know the house of this family of investagators. We spent some time looking for this family, and we found the husband in the street. He invited us in and we got talking. This man with his wife have been investagating the church for more than 20 years. They have not missed a sunday in more than 3 years. They so badly want to be baptized, bu they are not married which is holding them back from getting baptized. The problem is that they are from a small little rural village not even close to tegucigalpa, and for them to get married, they have to go to the town of their birth to take out papers. To get to their town, there is only 3 options, Plane, Boat, or Foot. There is no raod for a car to drive. For that reason, they never got married, and they never got baptized. All I can say is the church is true, because this High counsil man had connections, and some family of his could get their papers for them withouth having to make the trip. If we never wouldve gone, they probably never will get married, nor will they ever get baptized. This family is going to get baptized the 23 of April thaks to this High Council man.

Miracles Exist. The tenth chapter of Moroni states that miracles are a gift of the spirit. That is a truth. THe spirit told us that we would have three investagatos in church. The spirit told us to visit this family that needs to get married. If we hearken to the spirit, we can see and witness miracles. Thats kinda cool. Like always, the church is true, Love you all.

Who know's how to put a chicken to sleep?

Muy Buenas Dias!!!!!!!!!!!!
So............tomorrow is changes.................but...............nothing is really changing hahaha!! I get to spend another change in Monterrey with Elder Paiz! I actually feel pretty good about it. Weve been working really really good together here, and we are starting to see fruits. This week a member gave us a reference, so we visited her friday and talked a little about who we are and what we do as missionarys. We called her saturday night to ask her if she would like to go to church with us on sunday, and she said no.. we thought oh well. On Sunday out of the blue she just showed up at church haha. She told us that she thought about the invitation and felt like it was an invitation that came from God. She said that she just felt like she needed to go. After church we talked to her a little bit more. We taught her about Jospeh Smith and the Restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ. She said that she has never felt the way that she felt before. She said she felt the same way in church in the morning. When the spirit was strong, my companion asked her if she has ever been baptized, she said no. My companion asked if she would like to be baptized, and she said yes, and not just yes, she asked us if she could be baptized before the month ends. We were kinda blown away, because finding people like her in Monterrey is few and very far between. Miracles exist haha. That is just one experience from this week. Just we have had a week full of miracles. I can not explain it just miracles exist. The Church is true!! haha

Love you all

Buenas Diahsmm

Buenas Diahsmm [thats how they speak here....] hahahahaha

Oh yeah, im still here, thats great news!! Not going to lie, things are tough here, but I dont even care, the church is true!! hahaha!! The power of positive thinking always beats out rough times. Really, when i think about it hard, this week was actually really great. I had the opportunity to go on an interchange with the APs, the asistentes of President, I got to help a youth who i taught before go to the temple to be baptized for his father who passed away a few years back, and im still here as a missionary. Thats a pretty good list of pretty good things id have to say! Things are keeping on going great here!

So this past week I have done some deep reflexcion about many things. More than anything, about who I want to be. Ive thought, man, itd be nice to be persuasive, to be powerfull, to be loving. I have many examples of people who are persuasive, people who are powerfull, and of people who are loving, but what ive realized, is that I dont want to be like any of them. It doesnt matter if im powerfull or if im this or if im that. Really, my examples are not perfect examples, no one is perfect, so it is impossible to have a perfect example. My only perfect example is that of Jesus Christ. Really, he is the only person who was perfect in everything, so therefore, he and only him can truly be my example. If I try to be like Christ, If i try to teach like Christ, If i try to love like Christ, I will become pursauasive, powerfull, and loving, not in a the way that man wants, but in the way that God wants. My desire, and my goal, is to become like Christ. I am a long, long way from becoming like christ, but little by little, I can get close. The closer I get to Christ, the closer I get to perfection, and to my desires. The only way to perfection is through Jesus Christ.

Really, I have learned alot this week. When things are tough, we have to keep going. When things are tough, we have to stop focusing on the bad and focus on the good. The church is true!!

Love you all so much!

This boy is the first person Bradin baptized.  He was able to go to the Temple and do baptisms for his father who had passed away. So awesome that he is still active and doing good.

The work continues

Buenas Dias Familia!!!!!!

Wow, so this week was another week. Oficially, I am more than a year into my mission. Honestly, I completly forgot up till yesterday, and so no I did not do anything at all. But yeah,  I guess that happened. haha. No really things are great as always. Like always, I have no complaints. One thing that I have learned is when we do all that we can, the lord will make up the rest. This past week, I want to say on tuesday, all of our plans fell through. So we resorted to knocking doors. The problem is that ive already knocked the majority of the doors here, and many people have rejected us harshly. We spent literally 3 hours knocking doors, getting doors slamed on us, we knocked some doors by a taxi port, and some taxi drivers literally spat on us, and in these three hours, we did not find not even one person who even wanted to have a brief conversation with us. We literally just felt broke. We did all that we could posibly do. With low spirits, and in need for a break, I dont know why, but we both felt a need to go to a active members house. Normally we avoid members unless if we have dinner with them. This member doesnt really need much help, the mother of the house is a temple worker and is in the temple 3 days a week. It was very odd that we felt a need to go to her, but we did. When we visited her, she let us in and told us that she had a friend, a neighbor with her. We spend 10 -15 minuetes just talking with them getting to know them better, just more that anything resting. As we talked with this neighbor, we slowly started to change th etopic into a gospel related conversation, thats kinda what we do as missionarys haha. We found out that she doesnt go to any church, nor has she ever. We talked about the importance of God, and the help that he can be to us. We testified that if we put God first, if we do all that we can to follw him, that God will always be with us, looking after us, lifting us up when we have fallen. Me and my companion were in a low fallen state, and testifying to her that God lifts us up, lifted us up. She said right before we left that she needs God, and we are having a family home evening with her tonight. Really God is there, when we fall, he lifts us. When we do all that we can do, when we feel like it is impossible to do anything more, God will make up the difference and will help us do that little bit more. Its crazy how He works, but really I know that He works. God Lives and Loves us, He has Power to do anything and everything, especially for us being his children. THe Church is true. Love yall

It's cold????

Super Bowl Sunday already!?????
Wow, so this past week flew bye, this past month flew bye, this past year flew bye.... wow, just wow...
So things have been verry cold this week, verry cold. It kinda sad that when it gets down to 65, 70, degrees,I fell cold..haha. There has been a few coldfronts that have been coming in which has made things in some aspects great, in others dificult. This past sunday has been one of the coldest days in tegus in almost 5 years. People here are not used to 65 degree weather, so when it gets a little chilly, almost no one leaves home. Great for us because everyone is home so we can teach anyone and everyone, bad for us because no one leaves to go to church. Oh well, thats been my week. Really all sors of crazy things have happened this week. I have had a whole ton of meetings and reunions with just about anyone and everyone. I have sat through and participated in a handfull of councills this week. I have learned that this church works through councills. I really like that. As i am starting to realize the way that the church is ran higher up, I am starting to realize that this church is perfectlly organized. Thats a strong testimony that there is a God who is perfect out there, and that everything that he does is perfect, and that everything that he has established is perfect. I have often heard that this church is perfect, and it is, its just that people arent perfect. But that is our goal of this life, is to become perfect, like our father in heaven is perfect. I have learned, felt, and know that the only way to become perfect, is to do as Moroni said, and come unto Christ. Through Christ, all mankind who humble themselvs, follow his gospel, endure to the end, will be perfected in and only through Christ. That is just some things ive been thinking about this week. Like always, time is extremly short so thats what i got for yall today. Love you all so much

The fruits of his labors

Buenas dias familia!!

Alright, so this week was crazy, and this week was amazing. So much happened this week, and there is so much that i wish to tell you all,but like always there is limited timed. I am still here in monterrey, which is a huge blessing really. We were able to go on interchanges, I already know this area, so i was able to stay and teach another misionary in my area. We have also had time to visit many very special families. I remember when i first started myh mission, I wrote a letter talking about a blessing that I gave to a man named Walter, and then later on how he came to church, and then latter on I ran into him into the social security office,Well walter is a member know, and him and his wife are strong strong members. My first convert has a calling in the church and is preparing for a mission. Countless people that I was teching beforehand were baptized. When I was serving in Monterrey before, I had only one baptism in 3 months which is very little for this mission, but from the fruits of my labors, many more were broughjt to the church. Again, all I have to say is THE CHURCH IS TRUE.

So me and my companion have been working with a christlike attitude this past week. We pray every morning that God would put someone in our path that we can help. We pray every morning that we can be a blesisng to someone. Maybe we are not doing the most work, and maybe we are not getting the most success or getting the most numbers, but I can say that we have helped somone in someway everyday in this past week. I love this work, I love helping people. I testify that if we look for someone to help, and if we go around with this type of attitude, God will help us help someone else. THE CHURCH IS TRUE!!!!

Love yall

Sometimes dreams do come true...

Okay then....

So this week was crazy...

I dont know how to even put in to words this past week..

All i have to say is THE CHURCH IS TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

So lets begin with last monday. I didnt tell you this in my email because i was a little freaked out, but I had one heck of a dream last monday before changes. I had a partially scary, partially happy, very interesting dream that I was walking around in the streets of my first area in monterry again. I told Elder Efigenio about this dream first thing in the morning. I knew there was changes, and I figured that there was a very slim chance that I could have changes, but there was no way in the world that I would go back to monterrey reason being that the zone Leaders of zone Toncontin are in monterrey. I patiently waited most of last monday waiting form the call to let us know what was going on with the changes. Well... when i got the call, the zone leaders went through all told me everyone in the district who had changes and then said, " Now lets talk about whats happening with you Elder High..." all i heard is Elder High is out and you are going to be a Zone leader in Toncontin.... in area Monterrey A... So yeah.. I am back in my first area of Monterrey, and I can honestly say, I am ready for it! Things are so different than from when I was here the first time. All the members this past week have been like, "do you speak spanish now??" haha The people are still the same, but I have changes so much. My mindset has changed, my attitud has changed, really everything has changed. Many members has comentated on the huge change that they have seen, and how different I am now. I dont quite know how to take it all, but yes, I guess I have changed in this past year. Also all the members say that i look a lot skinnier which is something...

So something else that is interesting, is my new companion is an awesome elder named Elder Paiz. His parents are from gualtemala, but he was born and raised in Florida. English is his native and first language, but he speaked fluent spanish before the mission. He was my zone leader when I was in campamento, and I was his district leader haha. We already were super tight from the last few changes, and here we are as companions! Really, things are going to be great, I am so excited to be in Monterrey again. Thats about all i have to report on now, things are looking up and looking great for old man Elder High!

Love yall
